IMMUNIZATION POLICY STATEMENT
Plainsboro Pediatrics is strongly in support of all childhood and adolescent vaccines. Our office follows the vaccination schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control. Vaccines, historically and in the current day, have saved millions of children’s lives and have tremendously reduced the burden of illness for millions more children for over a hundred years. Our office is dedicated to wellness and disease prevention in infants, children, and adolescents, and an integral part of this is timely and appropriate vaccination.
Unvaccinated children pose a serious risk to vulnerable children and people that they may encounter in our waiting room such as newborns, the immuno-compromised, and the elderly. At Plainsboro Pediatrics, vaccines will be given according to the recommended schedule. This dedication to disease prevention and vaccination requires understanding and agreement by the physician-parent-child triad. We are a team and a shared philosophy and goal is crucial for the delivery of optimal healthcare for your child.
Families who oppose vaccination should seek care outside of Plainsboro Pediatrics. However, if a child has been inadequately vaccinated in the past but would like to join our practice, we would be happy to accept them as long as a catch-up immunization schedule is discussed and implemented as quickly as possible.
